Recruitment of Project Scientists for the project “Inventory of Coffee Plantations using Geospatial Techniquesâ€
Job description: Project scientists are required for carrying out activities under the collaborative project of Coffee Board and RRSC-South / NRSC (ISRO) on “Inventory of coffee plantations using Geospatial Techniques – A Pilot Study in Traditional Coffee Growing Regions of Indiaâ€. Work involves field data collection, satellite data & GIS analysis and other relevant tasks as part of the project work for mapping of coffee plantations and MIS package development for management of plantations. The project is sanctioned for the duration of two years from April 2013 to April 2015.

Essential Qualifications:- Â M.Sc. (Agri.) in Agronomy/ Horticulture/ Crop Physiology; or M.Sc. in Horticulture/ Environmental Science/ Geosciences/ Geography/ Botany or equivalent qualification
(or)
M.Tech or equivalent qualification in Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing
Desirable Qualifications
- Â Specialisation in Plantation crops (coffee, tea etc.)
- Knowledge in remote sensing & GIS and Image processing & GIS packages like ERDAS, ARCGIS etc.
- Knowledge in statistical data analysis and Microsoft Excel

Emoluments: Rupees 18,000/- per month + HRA as per the entitlement
