The Union Ministry of Education has greenlighted MNNIT to commence two new BTech programs – BTech in Engineering and Computational Mechanics, and Material Science Engineering.
The enrollment for the Engineering and Computational Mechanics program will begin from the academic session of 2023-24, whereas the Material Science Engineering program admissions will start from the 2024-25 session.
Admission and Seat Allocation
The institute will carry out the admission process for the Engineering and Computational Mechanics program through the Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP). A total of 30 seats have been allocated for this eight-semester course, structured in accordance with the new National Education Policy (NEP).
Course Overview and Relevance
In addition to core engineering subjects, the curriculum of this course will also cover Business Ethics and Social Values as an extra academic activity.
Dean (Academics) of MNNIT, Prof. LK Mishra, underscores the importance of computational work in the current landscape. He emphasizes that after building a device, its testing is crucial, albeit expensive, leading to a growing reliance on computer simulation. This course aims to address these needs, acquainting students with the latest technology in mechanics and equipment design.
Expanded BTech Course Offerings at MNNIT
With the addition of these two new courses, MNNIT Allahabad will be offering BTech programs in a total of nine branches – Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Chemical, Production Engineering, and now Engineering and Computational Mechanics.
