RBI Assistant 2023 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for RBI Assistant 2023, a candidate must meet the following nationality requirements:
- Should be an Indian citizen, or
- Can be a Nepali citizen, or
- Can be a Bhutanese citizen, or
- If a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the aim of settling here permanently, or
- If a person of Indian origin who has moved from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the purpose of permanently settling in India.
RBI Assistant Age Limit
To be eligible for RBI Assistant 2023 Exam, a candidate’s age must fall between 20 and 28 years. Candidates from reserved categories receive age relaxation, which is as follows:
- SC/ST: Up to 33 years (5-year relaxation)
- OBC: Up to 31 years (3-year relaxation)
- PwD (Persons with Disabilities): General – 10 years, OBC – 13 years, SC/ST – 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Service years in Armed Forces plus 3 years (maximum 50 years)
- Widows/divorced women/women judicially separated, not remarried: 10 years
- Candidates with RBI working experience: Upto the number of years of experience, up to 3 years maximum
RBI Assistant Educational Qualification
To be eligible for RBI Assistant 2023 Exam, a candidate should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in any field. Knowledge of computers and proficiency in the official language of the relevant state or Union Territory is also necessary.
RBI Assistant 2023 Selection Process
The RBI Assistant 2023 exam consists of three stages: Preliminary, Main, and Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The Preliminary exam includes sections on Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and English Language.
- The Main exam comprises five sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Computer Knowledge, and General Awareness.

An RBI Assistant’s monthly Basic Pay is Rs. 20,700/- within the pay scale of Rs. 20700 – 1200 (3) – 24300 – 1440 (4) – 30060 – 1920 (6) – 41580 – 2080 (2) – 45740 – 2370 (3) – 52850 – 2850 – 55700 (20 years), along with other allowances. Apart from Basic Pay, RBI Assistant also receives Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, and Transport Allowance.
