Indian Navy Invites Engineering Students For Officers Posts

Indian Navy University Entry Scheme (UEC) June-2014 Entry

Applications are invited from unmarried candidates who fulfill eligibility condition of Nationality as laid down by the Government of India for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Executive and Technical Branches of the Indian Navy under University Entry Scheme (UES), for course commencing June 2014.

Educational Qualifications :
Applicant should be studying in the final year (4th year) in a recognised university with one of the following disciplines and should have obtained a minimum of 60 % aggregate marks (till VIth semester): –

1. Engineering Branch (Only Men to apply) : Mechanical / Marine / Automobile/ Mechtronics/ Industrial and Production/ Metallurgy / Aeronautical/ Aerospace
2. Naval Architecture Cadre (Both Men and Women can apply) : Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/ Aero Space/ Metallurgy/ Naval Architecture
3. Electrical Branch  (Only Men to apply) : Electrical/ Electronics/ Tele Communication / Instrumentation / Instrumentation and Control / Electronics and Instrumentation / Electronics and Communication/ Power Engineering / Control System Engineering / Power Electronics
4. General Service (X) (Only Men can apply): BE/ B.Tech. in  Mechanical/ Marine/ Aeronautical/ Production/ Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology/ Control/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Telecommuication
5. Pilot (Only Men can apply): Any stream of BE/ B.Tech.
6. Observer (Only Men can apply): Any stream of BE/ B.Tech.
7. IT (Only Men can apply): BE/ B.Tech. Information Technology/ Computer Science Engineering/ Computer Engineering
8. Logistics (Works) (Both Men and Women can apply): BE/ B.Tech. in Civil/ Architecture

Age :
19 to 24 years (i.e. born between 02 Jul 1990 to 01 Jul 1995 both dates inclusive).

Promotion & Pay Scale
Promotion from Sub-Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions. The Pay Scale and promotion criteria are as follows:-

How to Apply :
Candidates have to submit application online only for this entry. Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation of candidature. The candidate applying online (e-application) can do so from 22 Jun 13. The online application Registration will close on 27 Jul 13.

Selection Procedure :

• The eligible candidates applying for the entry will have to appear before a Naval Campus Selection Team for interview. The candidates qualifying the campus interview will be shortlisted for SSB interview on the basis of his/her preference for the entry, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria for particular entry. The final selection of Branch/Cadre will be decided by IHQ-MoD(Navy) depending on number of vacancies in particular Branch/Cadre.
• Short listed candidates will be called for Campus Interview at their own expense at centres as notified by IHQ-MoD (Navy)/Command Headquarters. The screening will be conducted by a Naval Selection Team, and candidates selected during campus interview will be called for SSB interviewat Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore between Dec 13 to Apr 14
