Trainee Marine Engineer Recruitment Shipping Corporation June-2013

Applications are invited from Unmarried Male and Female Graduates In Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical & Automation Engineering for Recruitment as Trainee Marine Engineer

 

 As a National Carrier and country’s premier shipping line, The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. owns and operates around one-third of the Indian tonnage, and has operating interests in practically all areas of the shipping business; servicing both national and international trades. It is a Navratna Company operating under Ministry of Shipping, Govt. Of India.

Educational Qualification:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering /Mechanical & Automation Engineering from AICTE Approved Engineering college. Equivalent degree or degree with specialization or electives other than above educational qualification is not acceptable. Final year / semester students who have appeared in the exam and expect their results by 31.07.2013 are also eligible to apply.

Candidates must be in possession of a valid degree in Engineering certificate with minimum 50% marks in final year of Engineering with a good academic record throughout the degree curriculum and should have secured at least 50% marks in English language at XIIth class.

Age Limit:
Maximum 28 years as on 1st January 2014 (Date of commencement of training). Candidate belonging to UR/OBC Category must be born on or after 01.01.1986. Relaxations applicable to SC/ST candidate as per existing Govt. directives. Candidate belonging to SC/ST Category must be born on or after 01.01.1981.

Selection Procedure:
Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the All India written Test at their own expenses and only candidates qualifying in the written test will be called for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates called against 1 vacancy) keeping the provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC & OBC Minority in view. The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. reserves the right to shortlist the candidates for written test also.

Application Fees:
Rs.1000/- for General (UR) & OBC candidate’s and Rs.500/- for SC & ST candidate’s .
Before filling online application form, candidates should deposit application fees in the State Bank of India, The Shipping Corporation of India ltd. Mumbai’s below bank account and obtain JOURNAL NUMBER OF DEPOSIT FROM RESPECTIVE BANK immediately after fees deposited as it is MANDATORY for filling online application.(All Banks provide Journal number if requested to provide them.)

Date of commencement of Online application :- 12 June 2013 from 10.00 hrs.
Last date of submission of the online application by the candidates :-  03rd July 2013 up to 17.00 hrs
Last date for receipt of the hard copy of the application sheet :- 13th July, 2013 up to 17.00hrs
Tentative date of written examination :- 28th July (Sunday), 2013
